Come and discover the real Italy as well as the Eternal City of Rome and its many attractions. Whether you choose our tour for a carefree holiday or a get-together with friends or family you will be looked after from the minute you arrive at the airport in Rome.
We meet you and take you to your accommodation in a hill top medieval village with unspoilt views where you can unwind as you sample the local cuisine.
Every day there are trips which include some of the following:
Rome: Visiting Piazza Venezia, Vittorio Emmanuelle Monument, beautiful Piazza Navona with live street performers, the open air market at Campo de’ Fiori (once the place for public executions) and the Pantheon. The itinerary may also include the Vatican City, Vatican gardens, Colosseum, Ancient Rome and the Villa Borghese with time for a little shopping and appreciation of the café lifestyle!
Not forgetting Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain where you can toss a coin to ensure a return to this magical city.
A whole day is spent at Tivoli, visiting Hadrian’s villa and then Villa d’Este a masterpiece of Italian garden designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site, with its terraces, fountains and water jets representing the Mannerist and Baroque periods and sumptuously decorated Renaissance palace with frescos and spectacular views.
A tour of Greccio; visiting the convent of St Francis of Assisi, who loved the Sabine Hills, and the nativity museum at the Sanctuary. We travel to Labro a beautifully restored medieval village in the tranquil setting of these hills. We can follow the footsteps of St Francis or continue into Rieti the central town of Italy and discover its own historical delights and secrets.
We offer another trip to the Cascata delle Marmore a fantastic waterfall near Terni. This was manmade from water that has been channeled from Rieti to form a very impressive waterfall and one of the highest in Europe.
There is also the chance to get to know the locality if you choose to visit Lake Turano with its hilltop villages, Rocca Sinibalda to name but one. For those who like to walk there is also the chance to visit Mount Terminillo, near Rieti.
Ostia Antica presents a unique view of a well-presented port town. Once the ancient port of Rome, Ostia offers the opportunity to see the artifacts of blue collar working life in Roman times.
Our tours are tailor-made to suit those who have never been to Italy before or for those who have perhaps visited Rome and Lazio before but would like to see and learn more. Having spent many years visiting and living in the area we are able to offer a variety of excursion according to the time of year and also including local festivals and sagres celebrating each harvest and therefore sampling the specialities of the region. These are great fun and the Italians are very proud of their traditions and produce. Whether it is olive oil, cheese or wine festival being celebrated, you will be welcomed and come away feeling less of a tourist, more a part of the community and hopefully you will return for more of a Taste of Italy.
